It’s been less than a month since I shared my new business with you and the world, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt so overwhelmed—in the best way—with peace and gratitude. We already have 30+ bookings on the calendar and counting, from engagement sessions and Valentine’s minis to surprise pregnancy announcements, newborn shoots, milestone moments, pets, and more.

And being able to welcome other creatives and photographers into a space I created and share it with them truly means everything to me.

There’s one thing that has always been a constant in my life since the age of 15, and that’s photography.

As the years went on, it was always woven in and out of my life. At 16, I was given my first professional camera thanks to my mom, who has always raised me to believe I can quite literally do anything and be anything. It’s the kind of confidence I hope to instill in my daughter.

From there, I booked a part-time job photographing musicians for a magazine. Later, I picked up side gigs doing senior portraits, engagements, maternity and family sessions. I even once photographed the entire Bedford, MA Fire Department (again, at 16—and I’m sure they were wondering what I was doing there at that age).

As I got older, band and artist photography stole my heart in my early 20s. I was fortunate enough to capture Lady Gaga before she became a household name, along with Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, and so many of your favorite Warped Tour bands.

Wanting a change (like most twenty-somethings do), I dove into teaching. Even then, I continued taking professional photos for my students’ families and for the school.

Naturally, social media became a huge part of my life around this time too—but I was still focused on “getting the shot,” first for Instagram and later for brands like Anthropologie, Four Seasons, and Universal Studios.

After having my daughter, I slowed down a lot, trying to figure out who I was outside of motherhood. I’ve created many passion projects and shared them with you over the years, but this one is undeniably me.

I am blown away by how many of you have trusted me to be part of your family’s holiday magic. Photography has always been an extension of who I am at my core, but as life happens and motherhood happens, you start to push down the little passions that once made you glow. New purposes and priorities take over, and the only other thing that has made me this excited is my daughter.

I do not know what it was inside me that made me pick up the camera again and get behind the lens instead of always being in front of it for social media. What was supposed to be a fun moment to get out, get creative, and connect with others has turned into something so much more for me.

So I ran to Pinterest, and thanks to the miracle of overnight delivery, this little pop-up studio was born! Heated, cozy, and technically outdoors… which means top-tier lighting ✨
